More Information
Abu Dabab bay is a horseshoe shaped cove that sits deep into the coastline. Enclosed by an amazing beach, the bay remains shallow for a long distance from the shore with the seabed covered in seagrass. The bay is home to numerous green turtles and few dugongs.
The bay gradually slopes away until you reach a ridge where the seagrass ends and the turtles feed. They are unphased by divers and snorkelers and will allow you to get within inches of them.
The remainder of the bay houses patchy flat corals and rocks that are home to blue spot rays, lionfish and nudibranches. Jacks and snappers also swim over the grassy seabed. You will also see squid if they don't get scared off from diver bubbles.
The outer edges of the bay have small walls and caves where divers get dropped off by RIB's and then swim back to shore.
