Diving Overview for Sudan
Sudan is often overshadowed by its more established neighbour Egypt however, if you are looking for beautiful diving, crystal-clear warm water and an abundance of marine life you will find everything and more in Sudan.
Sudan overs many uncrowded dive sites ranging from pretty coral reefs to well preserved shipwrecks.
Dive spots in the north of Sudan are more popular, here you will find many soft corals and famous wrecks including the Umbria wreck and depending on season, you may see some mantas, hammerheads and whale sharks.
To the south the diving is less well known, these sites tend to be deeper, visibility is slightly less clear due to increased levels of plankton in the water, however there is abundance of sharks and the great pelagic fish can be seen in the southern waters making for truly spectacular diving!
In summer, temperatures here can reach 50 degrees and in winter rarely drop below 25. Some dive sites are more for the experienced diver, particularly in the south, however there is something for all levels in Sudan.
