More Information
The B-17 is a US WWII bomber nicknamed 'Black Jack' due to the painted Jack and Ace playing cards on the side of the nose.
The B-17 made an emergency landing due to engine failure and bad weather in 1943, the 10 man crew all survived with the help of local villagers from Boga Boga village.
This wreck is in excellent condition, only the nose is damaged. The B-17 lies on a sandy bottom at 50m giving you limited time to see the wreck. You will be disappointed however as this dive site attracted huge schools of batfish, passing sharks and pelagics.
Many divers choose to dive both the B-17 and S-Jacob: two deep WWII wreck sites. Suitable for tech diving.
