More Information
Most dives at Avana Passage begin inside the lagoon although it is possible to dive from the passage into the lagoon. If beginning inside the lagoon, you will drift out through the wide sandy passage lined with large coral formations and giant bommies -this is a great place to find lion fish and morrays.
There are several options at the end of this passage offering different channels and drop-offs to explore. The topography of this channel makes it a beautiful dive for all levels and fantastic for underwater photos.
Follow the drop-off down to a deep ridge (between 30-45m depth) where you can often see cruising sharks. This ridge is a popular area for tec divers.
