Diving Overview for Red Baron Caves

Red Baron Caves has a maximum diving depth of around 25 m / 82 ft and is suitable for all divers. The average visibility is 10-20 metres and access to the dive site is by boat.

Red Baron Caves is a dive site located at the Poor Knights in the North Island of New Zealand.

To the north of the dive, there is a large opening allowing easy access through a series of swim-throughs towards the cave. Expect crystal clear water, with amazing shafts of light penetrating from the surface. In the cracks and crevices there are shy rock cod hiding from the light, bigeyes and banded coral shrimp, scorpionfish, red pigfish and hundreds of nudibranchs.
