More Information
Rikoriko Cave is one of the world's largest ocean caves and is around 200 metres in diameter. The entrance to the cave is large enough to moor up to six boats!
As you descent into the cave at a depth of 10 metres, the light levels drop dramatically to the equivalent levels found at 100 metres. This has resulted in a number of deep sea creatures taking refuge inside the cave including lettuce-green coral polyp, previously been known to live at sun-deprived depths of 2000 metres. Look out for yellow, grey and mosaic morays, groupers, pink and blue maomao and roughies. Look along the sand by the entrance for red lizardfish and pufferfish above.
This makes a great night dive as well as a day dive.
