More Information
This was a French wooden warship wrecked on the west Bermuda reef in 1838. She was a three masted wooden frigate of 60 guns and one of the last sail powered warships before steam appeared. The dive is very easy with a maximum depth of 9 metres.
Descending from the buoy mooring line it is at first hard to see a wreck; just sand patches and sections of reef. Then you realise that there are huge cannons everywhere scattered about the seabed but well encrusted with coral. With care it is posible to identify some remaining sections of timber and a lot of debris including sections of copper sheathing and bricks from the ballast. About 60 metres away is the vessel's anchor. An easy scenic dive with loads to look out for. Good for the photographer.
