Diving Overview for Connecticut
Connecticut (CT) is part of the New England region to the northeast of the USA boarding with the Atlantic Ocean.
There are a variety of diving opportunities available from River diving to quarries, lakes, beach dives and some amazing wreck dives.
The coastline of CT is scattered with the various islands of New York making it easily accessible to dive the many New York Islands' dive sites as well as Connecticut's very own.
CT has over 600 miles of coastline along the northshore of Long Island Sound and has a long history of waterway access. There are hundreds of shipwrecks to explore from tugs boats, schooners, passenger ships, yachts, gunboats and even a few submarines.
There are several dive opportunities from the coast, King's Beach is a popular spot, and many dive centres offer regular trips to Fort Wetherill, Dutch Springs and Cape Ann.
Diving is possible all year although weather and swell conditions can limit availability to coastal wrecks -check with your dive centre for weather reports.
