Diving Overview for Nova Scotia
Nova Scotia is one of Canada's Atlantic maritime provinces and is almost surrounded by water.
The waters around Nova Scotia offer a varitety of cold water diving opportunities and to be comfortable in these waters, you'll need either a dry suit, or a good, warm wet suit. Scuba diving in Nova Scotia is normally done in the warmer summer months.
There are four bodies of water that surround the province including the Atlantic Ocean, the Gulf of Saint Lawrence, the Bay of Fundy, and Northumberland Strait. All 4 offer varied diving opportunities and experiences depending on tides, currents and the type of seabed.
Nova Scotia waters are home to a great variety of marine life including huge lobsters and schools of fish and an incredible collection of shipwrecks.
