More Information
Morrison's Quarry is located just off of Highway 105 in Wakefield, Quebec. The quarry is home to one of the most popular diver training sites in the region and is one of the best dive sites in the area.
The quarry reaches a maximum depth of 42 metres / 140 ft with visibility of about 8 metres in the summer and over 30 metres in the spring and autumn. Be warned: there are 2 distinct thermoclines that bring the temperature to 4-5 degrees at the bottom, no matter how hot it is outside.
Winding downwards along the perimeter is the old access road that is now underwater. There is a small plane just beyond 10 metres and a tugboat at 20 metres both scuttled on purpose. There are also two car wrecks that found their way to the bottom either as part of an action movie or because some joy-riders needed to get rid of the car they'd stolen.
Entrance Fees: There is a fee of $10 payable to Mrs. Morrison or one of her sons upon arrival. A dive site liability register must be signed at time of payment, so make sure you have your diver certification number handy.
Don't Forget your F.Q.A.S Quebec Diving Permit.
