Diving Overview for Tennessee
Tennessee offers a surprisingly good range of dive opportunities for a land-locked state including the ability to cross the border underwater into Kentucky when diving at Dale Hollow Lake. This Lake is 130 ft deep and has several diving sites including the steep banks of Ashburn Creek and the unusual remains of the submerged Willow Grove School house.
Martha's Quarry is a dive site not to be missed and is rated as one of Tennessee's top dive sites. You can explore the remnants of the previously active quarry including a 3-storied shaker house, pickup trucks, a large bus and even the old conveyor belts and pump houses. Freshwater fish include catfish, bluegill, spotted bass and sauger, visibility is excellent. While open to any level of diver, you need to be certified to enjoy some dive sites in Tennessee.
